Logitech Mobi Fold Streamlines Your On-the-Go Work Setup with a Folding Travel Mouse

It looks like a flip phone straight out of 2004. Except, there’s no screen or keyboard when you unfold it. That’s because the Logitech Mobi Fold is actually a travel mouse designed for easy portability so you can take it with you on the road.

Why not just carry a small wireless mouse? For one, you probably won’t find a good mouse that can match up to its collapsed size, as it measures just 2.6 x 0.8 inches when folded. That’s compact enough to put on a shirt pocket if you want, especially with its ultralight weight of just 2.8 ounces. For reference, it’s around the same profile as a wireless earbud case in a much thinner package.

The Logitech Mobi Fold doesn’t unfold into a flat bar shape. Instead, it takes on an arched profile when deployed, so you can cup it in your hand like a traditional mouse peripheral. The exterior is covered in a silicone skin that allows for a secure grip in hand, allowing you to comfortably hold it while navigating across menus and doing all sorts of tasks on your laptop. It comes with right and left click buttons, as well as forward and back touch scroll buttons on the touch panel strip between them, so you’ll probably have to get comfortable scrolling without a traditional mouse wheel. The left and right clicks are fixed function, by the way, although users are allowed to reprogram how the forward and back clicks behave using the Logi Options+ app (Windows and macOS).

It uses optical tracking like most modern mouse peripherals, with a 4,000 DPI sensor in tow. By default, it’s set to work at 800 DPI, although you can adjust it anywhere from 400 to 4,000 at 100 DPI increments, so you can tailor how fast the cursor moves to your exact liking.

The Logitech Mobi Fold is designed to work wirelessly, with Bluetooth LE onboard, so you can simply pair to any laptop or other Bluetooth-enabled device, with no need to mess with any dongles. It has a range of 33 feet, which is standard for most wireless mouse. The device actually supports Logitech’s multi-device pairing, which means you can keep it paired with up to three machines, easily switching among them on the fly. The mouse should work seamlessly with most Windows, macOS, iPadOS, ChromeOS, Android, and Linux devices. That’s right, even the Linux enjoyers can get in on this ultraportable travel mouse.

According to Logitech, the hinge it uses to fold the two sections in place has been tested to withstand up to 15 years of daily use, so this should hold up to your daily working life on the go. The hinge, by the way, is covered in a pleated silicone material that expands and stretches as it folds and deploys, so everything works pretty seamlessly. Inside, it houses a built-in rechargeable battery that’s rated for up to a month of use between charges. In case it runs out of power while you’re working, a quick one minute charge will feed it enough power to keep running for the next 22 hours.

The Logitech Mobi Fold is available now, priced at $79.99.
