Most projectors, even portable ones, come with built-in speakers, which should help make setting up to watch a movie a lot easier. So why not make the speakers detachable, so you can use them on their own, instead of having to buy separate speakers? We’re guessing that’s the idea behind the Soundcore Nebula P1.
A portable projector with detachable stereo speakers, it gives you an easy way to tailor the audio placement when you’re watching a movie, as it allows you to position the projector separately from the speakers. Additionally, it lets you use the whole thing strictly in speaker mode, so you can use it to listen to music, watch movies on your phone, and a whole host of other stuff.
The Soundcore Nebula P1 is an LED projector that can beam 1080p images at screen sizes of up to 180 inches. It has a throw ratio of 1.2:1, so you’ll need to situate it a bit farther from the projection surface if you want true big screen viewing, while a brightness rating of 650 ANSI lumens means you’ll need a fairly dark room to watch clear visuals with this thing, Still, it’s substantially brighter than some of Anker’s other portable projectors, many of which have received positive reviews in the past. It uses the same image engine as the outfit’s other projector’s, by the way, all while offering a 400:1 contrast ratio and 124 percent coverage of the Rec. 709 color gamut.
While marketed as a “portable projector,” it’s only portable in the sense that it’s easy to move from one spot to another, as you’ll still need to plug it in since there’s no onboard battery. Yeah, you’ll still need an available outlet if you want to use this in the backyard. The detachable dual speakers (10W each), on the other hand, each come with integrated batteries, allowing you to easily place it anywhere for optimal audio delivery. Each speaker offers 20 hours of playtime between charges.
The Soundcore Nebula P1 comes with a dual arm gimbal that ensures its able to project a stable image even when making angle adjustments. That’s right, you can adjust the direction of the beam while keeping the projector in place, with options to beam it anywhere on the wall and even on the ceiling. It comes with your usual correction setup assistance features, included keystone correction, real-time autofocus, screen fit correction, and obstacle avoidance, making it totally painless to set up in any room.
It’s powered b a quad-core ARM Cortex A55 CPU, an ARM Mali-G52MC1 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of onboard storage, along with HDMI 2.1 eARC for plugging in video sources and an AUX OUT for connecting to separate speakers. It comes with Google TV preloaded, complete with an official Netflix app and a whole library of streaming services available on the outfit’s platform. Other features include a carry handle on top (for easily moving from room to room), a light weight of 5.3 pounds, and 10ms of latency, so you can plug in your console for big screen gaming.
